KJV

Please consider the following.
Back in the 1600’s God saw to it that the certain scriptures were translated into English “KJ bible” and was put into print so that all could read for themselves the truth that is HIDDEN in the scriptures. God did this because he knew that he would bring about this powerful nation [and the English language] of ours to lead the world to salvation or destruction.
The scriptures were written by apostles and prophets inspired by God and the Holy Ghost. The translation to English was also done by the direction of God and the Holy Ghost and they did not make any mistakes, i.e. the fourth horse being “pale” was no mistake, the horse was not green.
In Greek mythology, the name Chloris (Khloris Χλωρίς, from khloros χλωρός, meaning "greenish-yellow," "pale green," "pale," "pallid" or "fresh") appears...
Pallid
  1. pale; faint or deficient in color; wan: a pallid countenance.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Tim 3:16-17 (KJV)

This following verse is not saying that God didn't want a fancy carved altar. You have to look at the principle of the statement. When man tries to improve on Gods work he defiles it and makes it a lie.
25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
Ex 20:25 (KJV)

And Rev 22:18-19 (KJV) has that same principle.
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

When you change words you change meaning.
King James Version (KJV)

16 And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark ON their right hand or ON their forehead,

King James Version (KJV)
New American Standard (NAS)
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding COUNT the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding CALCULATE the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.
